MONTHS BEFORE SURGERY
(pre-surgery physical therapy)
While it is likely that you have been participating in ongoing physical therapy as part of your care, it may be intensified in the months before surgery. A program of pre-operative physical therapy will help make you as fit as possible for the surgery, improve your range of motion, and strengthen the muscles to improve your mobility after surgery.

It is important to remember to exercise the joint within the pain-free range of motion to make sure you do not irritate the joint and cause increased pain.

You will need to obtain pre-authorization from your insurance carrier. For more information on health insurance coverage click herelink arrow 1.
