SURGICAL SYNOVECTOMY
Usually, a compression bandage is recommended for 3-4 days to maintain some immobilization of the joint.13 After that active motion exercises should begin. About 4 or 5 days after a knee or ankle procedure you may be able to start walking with the help of crutches. With a progressive rehabilitation program maximum joint motion may be recovered about 2 weeks after surgery. Weight bearing without crutches should wait until you have achieved the maximum range of motion of the joint. Clotting factor therapy will likely be needed for at least 2 weeks, based on your individual treatment plan.
